This conference is addressed to researchers, forecasters, potential users of commercial applications, decision makers and other people interested in severe storms and related phenomena. A special session will be dedicated to Dr Dessens and his scientific contributions to hail suppression research.

The first Conference was held in Toulouse (France) 1-4 February, 2000 and the second ECSS was held in Pruhonice (Czech Republic) 26-30 August 2002. Detailed information about ECSS 2002 is available on the internet site http:/www.chmi.cz/ECSS2002
